Reuse Art Programs

Programs

An overhead look at various creative reuse materials arranged by color. We offer directed reuse art activities, facilitated by our amazing Teaching Artists, where participants can partake in a specific craft making experience. These programs range from zine and DIY journal making, to jewelry making, and even puppet-making! Many of our programs prompt participants to think about their contribution to their local community, how reuse can become a part of their art-making practice, and how we can create the world we wish to see through art, reuse, and community connection! If you’re interested in seeing our full Programs Menu, please email us at programs@pccr.org

If you’re interested in a less structured/more free-form activity, we also offer Open-Ended Making Programs! During these events, materials are set up buffet-style and each participant collects the materials they wish to use. We encourage participants to focus on the process of how it feels to make art, lean into their creative impulses, and experiment with our unique materials! Our Teaching Artists act as non-judgemental facilitators, there to give guidance and supportive encouragement when requested, but encourage self-directed creativity.

Field Trips

This is the view inside our shop from the front door.

We can facilitate field trips outside of regular shop hours. These visits consist of a tour of our facility, information on who we are, what we do, and how we do it! You can also add on a shopping portion of the field trip where participants can shop for unique treasures.

Professional Development

Our professional development programs offer a space for local educators, artists, and community members alike to learn about our process-driven, play-forward art education pedagogy, and how this is central to our organizational mission of nourishing creativity and connection via reuse.

Virtual Learning

We offer workshops via Zoom, where each participant gets a kit of materials, and we work together to create something amazing! You can pick from a list of existing kits, or we can brainstorm to create a custom experience, so dream big!
