Internships

Interns are a vital and valued part of our organization. We have internship opportunities for committed, creative folks who would like to use their skills and energy to help us build a more creative and sustainable Pittsburgh.

Internship Opportunities:

Nonprofit Administration 

Explore communication, data collection and analysis, office space organization, accounting, technology improvement, fundraising, or community outreach.

Marketing

Demonstrate your talent for design and build your portfolio while building on your creativity.

Program Administration (not currently accepting)

Develop and maintain the administrative systems of our Creative Education Programs. All program interns assist with hands-on programs on an as-needed basis. For summer internships, must be available to assist with the Three Rivers Arts Festival.

Teaching Artist

Help plan and facilitate creative hands-on learning activities for people of all ages, and will assist with the development of systems for improving our Creative Education Programs. For summer internships, must be available to assist with the Three Rivers Arts Festival.

Program Materials Management

Coordinate, organize, and maintain materials used in creative hands-on learning activities for people of all ages. 

Gallery (not currently accepting)

Gain experience in gallery curation and associated programming, which includes workshops, artist talks, demonstration days, and an artist in residence program.

Volunteer Coordination

Develop management skills by overseeing individual and groups of volunteers in the shop and at events, and also assist with maintaining volunteer supplies, developing volunteer task instructions, and training volunteers.

Materials Coordination (not currently accepting)

Exercise your organizational skills to provide a unique experience for visitors and gain experience in nonprofit retail operations.

Materials Research

Gain research skills by discovering specialty, vintage, and rare items so that we may price them accordingly and make them available in our shop and/or online.

Shop Assistant

Exercise your creativity to provide a unique experience for visitors and develop skills in organization and customer service.

General Information

Start dates and schedules are flexible, and applications are accepted throughout the year. Although 120 hours is the standard commitment, we welcome longer internships and may consider shorter ones. Please get in touch with us before applying if you have any questions.
